How to Apply for a Class 3 DSC in Bangalore: The Complete 2025 Guide
Step-by-step guide to applying for a Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate in Bangalore — documents, Aadhaar e-KYC, video verification and token collection.
Applying for a Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate in Bangalore has become simpler than it used to be, but there are still four steps where first-time applicants get stuck. Here's the complete path from documents to a working token in your hand.
What you'll need before you start
- PAN card (physical or e-PAN both work)
- Aadhaar card with the mobile number linked and active — the e-KYC OTP goes there
- One passport-size photograph (digital JPEG is fine)
- Active email ID and a mobile number for the video verification call
Step 1 — Choose your DSC type
For most individuals — directors, partners, proprietors, professionals — a Class 3 Individual DSC is what you need. If you're signing on behalf of a company (bidding on tenders, signing invoices under the company name), you also need a Class 3 Organisation DSC. Both can be issued together.
Step 2 — Submit details for verification
You'll share PAN and Aadhaar details through our secure onboarding form, or in person at our Nagavara office. The details are validated against the CCA-mandated Certifying Authority backend.
Step 3 — Aadhaar e-KYC + video verification
This is where most delays happen. Aadhaar e-KYC requires an OTP to your registered mobile — if that number is inactive, update it at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra first. The video call is a short (2–5 minute) verification with our Certifying Authority partner; you'll be asked to show your PAN and read a randomly-generated code.
Step 4 — Certificate issuance and token loading
Once verification passes, the certificate is generated and loaded onto a FIPS-compliant USB token. We hand it over at Nagavara or courier it in tamper-evident packaging. Total elapsed time from complete documents to token in hand: typically one working day.
Common mistakes we see
- Aadhaar mobile number is inactive — the entire process stalls before it starts.
- Name mismatch between PAN and Aadhaar — has to be reconciled at the source before we can proceed.
- Using an old USB token whose driver is no longer compatible with modern browsers — get a fresh token.
- Forgetting to note down the token PIN — write it down; a locked token can't be recovered.
